The familiar destinations of this item are still China and Japan.

The most breakthrough growth is wood pellets, reaching 818 million USD in 2022, an increase of nearly 81% compared to 2021. The main consumption markets are Korea and Japan with a small part exported to the EU. In the first 3 months of this year, this item achieved a turnover of 212 million USD, up 31% over the same period last year.

According to the Vietnam Wood and Forest Products Association, the export of wood chips and wood pellets is favorable because of the trend in some countries to switch to this material when the supply of petroleum is tight, especially in 2022.
